Materials Resource Center @ CCA

Every design school (and design firm or in-house design department) should have this.

California College of the Arts recently opened its New Materials Resource Center in San Fransisco. In development since 1999 and costing about $75,000, this library features over 1,800 samples CCA students can get their muffin grabbers on. There’s a browsable web interface anyone can use to figure out what they’re looking for before they show up and begin drooling over all the samples. Nobody wants to clean that up.

In the video, archivist and ID grad Jake Sollins takes us on a tour.
