Jelloware Cups: Great for Picknics Despite the Humidity

How’s this for a bio-material?

Made out of agar (derived from red algae), these cups are disposable and edible. They come in flavors like lemon-basil and ginger-mint and can be tossed in the grass afterward if you’re already full from the macaroni salad.

They’re a result of the 2nd annual Jell-O Mold Competition in Brooklyn, New York. A company called The Way We See The World won for sculptural/structural integrity with Jelloware – a set of delicious, squishy, colorful glasses.

The only downside? They might get a little soft in the summer heat and humidity…
